When asked by ESPN if I would watch the Olympics I infatically said no. If I would have held true to that I would have missed the most incredible race in the history of the Olympics in my opinion. As Michael Phelps pursues his 8 Gold Medals the relay races he only has 25 % of the answer. But last night as the anchor Jason *** turned for the final 50 meters he caught the World record holder and pulled one out for himself, his country and Phelps pursued of 8 gold medals. It was the craziest sprint I have ever seen and it was one of the few moments the Olympics had the power to lift me from the chair and scream! If you didn't see it, find it on Youtube. It is an American Moment every American should see.

That was an incredible race!!! I was watching it live and on the last leg I thought for sure France was going to win. Our fourth and final swimmer was nearly an entire body length behind the leader, who happens to be a former world record holder in the 50m. The American swimmer caught up to the Frenchie and finished 8 one-hundredths of a second (0.08) in front of him.
You're right - the best race I've ever seen, too. And the French were heavy favorites. Even former U.S. gold medal swimmer Rowdy Gaines said "I've played this race out on paper so many times and I just don't see how it's possible for the Americans to win this one." It was truly amazing.
