Well, the news tonight is that Brett Favre is officially a New York Jet. The first thing that came to mind when I heard this a few minutes ago is a franchise I did in Madden NFL 07. I like to pick different teams to use in franchise mode, and I ran a franchise through about 5 years with the Jets that year. I traded for Brett Favre to rejuvenate the franchise and then drafted a young running back I imported from NCAA Football 07 from Oklahoma to be the cornerstone for the franchise.

Favre took my Jets to back to back Super Bowls and made Laveranues Coles a bona fide NFL Superstar. Randy Moss who? The Jets dominated the AFC East in my franchise, and had several memorable rivalry games with the Pats (sans Moss who was still a Raider at the time). He played for a couple of season for me before taking a back seat and retiring for real. Patrick Ramsey took over for him while I looked for a younger quarterback to fill the shoes of a legend.

How will Favre do this year as a New York Jet? Can he emulate my franchise and reheat the Jets/Pats rivalry, or will the magic be left behind in Green Bay? What do you think?

Favre is one of my favorite players but he wont do anything this year. the packers played with five good wide receivers the jets only have 1 and the packers have a good running game something the jets dont have R.I.P favre's career

I don't think The Jets will be that good this year, they need some receivers. I don't even think Joe Montana could make a difference for the jets. The Jets just suck.

Brett Favre still got some in his body. I don't think he should have retire in the first place, I just had a feeling he wasn't to sure yet and would come back. Now all this drama has unfold but now it's finally over and Brett is back. He has nothing to prove, but he still be a great player for Jets. Don't plan the parade just yet in New York though.

I think Favre is the Jets best option right now. However, I don't think he will be asked to do too much considering the moves they made to beef up their O-Line so they can run the football. Also, I don't think Favre is going to have the luxury of slacking off like he did for years in Green Bay. This isn't Wisconsin where the fans worship the ground he walks on, he's in the Big Apple now and the media is way more intense.

The Madden Curse is in full effect, man.

Bill CaLLLLLahan is now an assistant with the Jets, so keep him away from Favre. He has magical powers that **** the talent out of even the best players. (Being a Nebraska fan during the Callahan Error, um Era, I can discuss this with certainty.)

Good luck to Brett. I'm probably in the minority, but I thought the Packers didn't treat him very well. Sure, he jerked them around, but that doesn't mean that have the right to return the favor.

Maybe now ESPN will find something else to cover - or not.
