I'm pretty excited that the ability to upload videos to EA SPORTS World has been added to Madden NFL 09. Last night I played a couple of warm up games (nothing fancy, 5 min quarters on All Pro) and uploaded my first Madden NFL 09 videos of the year. Here's a look at the four videos I posted. Click the links to check them out.

"AD" 7 Yard Run

I realize that a 7 yard run isn't probably the most exciting highlight you'll see while browsing the site, but here's why I think this one is cool. It's a great example of the improved controls this year, where having an elite running back like Adrian Peterson can make a big difference. The play is about to be blown up in the backfield, but Peterson is able to turn nothing into something. I especially like the juke right at the end that leaves a defender off balance. If the sideline wasn't there, who knows how far he'd have gone?

Growing Pains

I'm a fan of Lions rookie running back Kevin Smith, but he makes a rookie mistake in this video, putting the ball on the ground during the Lions first drive of their game against me last night. I felt bad for the CPU controlled Smith because he nearly made a great run, breaking a tackle and moving with a lot of momentum before losing the ball to a successful user strip. If only the rookie had switched the ball to the outside hand, he might have been able to stiff arm me instead of losing the rock.

RomOwned!

In this play Tony Romo makes what I consider to be a pretty questionable decision, throwing the football while on the run into an area with quite a few defenders. Now I'll give him this.. his dangerous pass was put where it could be caught by the receiver, but Laron Landry gets there in time to make sure the catch is bobbled before being picked off by Schweigert. It's also hard to miss London Fletchter absolutely destroying Terry Glenn after he misses the catch. Maybe he'd be safer in Miami?

User!

Here's a user pick I got in garbage time in my game against Dallas. Romo throws a pass out of desperation that I'm able to pick off with Landry. I was sitting on the route the whole time and got excited when he threw the ball my way. Good effort by the often underrated Jason Witten at the end. He was hanging all over Landry, but couldn't break up the pass. Also worth noticing at the end is Terry Glenn, who appears dumbfounded as to how that just happened. He's already ready for the first roster update.

Hope you enjoy checking out this small sample of EA SPORTS World's video upload functionality. Leave me some comments on the vids, and I look forward to seeing all of your uploads August 12th!

I really like the quality of the videos. Could you explain to us beginners the process of uploading videos from your console to EA Sports World? I would really love to take advantage of this new feature.
