star star star star star
I'm now in year 4 of a dynasty I originally started using Notre Dame (I'm not really a fan.. maybe more a fan of their green alternate jerseys). In my first couple of years I had some decent recruiting classes. I'm a sucker for really talented skill position players, even if I have a lot of depth at those positions. As far as I'm concerned you can never have enough athletes at HB and WR.

In year one I started looking at a 4 star running back named Joe Berry. I like speed backs that can make plays in the open field and catch the football and he fit the bill. He wasn't at the top of my board but he was pretty close, and I was fortunate enough to have him commit to the team late in that first season. He didn't disappoint.

Another thing you should know about how I play dynasty is that I'm not patient when it comes to starting freshman talent on my team. I started Joe Berry at HB immediately and he had a huge impact on the team, with both outstanding freshman and sophomore seasons at Notre Dame. But his success lead to overall success with the team, and at the end of year three I started to get some pretty attractive offers from other schools.

I decided to take the head coaching job at Auburn, who finished near the bottom of the top 25 the year before. I love a good story so I went into my custom schedule in the pre-season and made sure my first game had me visiting South Bend to try and steal a win from my old team. Joe Berry had a pretty good day for the Irish, but I was able to pull off the victory against a team full of players I'd recruited over the last few seasons.

I'd still like to see Joe Berry do well and I'm looking forward to putting him on my draft board in Madden NFL 09 when the time is right.   For now I'm trying to duplicate the success I had with the Irish and see how far I can take my Auburn team.

Do any of you have interesting recruit stories from your dynasties?  I'd love to hear them.

I do that too, although not last year because I didn't get Madden last year. I definately find that I try to draft my USF dynasty players in Madden. Go USF...this year's darkhorse!

Wow.. that's pretty impressive. Are any of you guys like me where you end up importing a draft class into Madden and then try an draft a lot of the players you've recruited?

Man bro Im in my 8th season with Oregon, ive had some pretty good recruits. I have a corner by the name of Casey Thomas who takes the cake. I like a nice lockdown corner, with speed, so I can also use him as a returner. He was a 78 his freshman year. 85 soph, and midseason Junior hes a 91, Im going to try and keep him from leaving early but the way hes playong this season he may take the Heisman

A little off topic, but somehow the top recruit in the country one year was a kicker. Better than the 89 rated RB I picked up who was ranked #2.

I just can't ever seem to stick with one school for more than a few years. As soon as I have a few great recruiting classes and become close to building a powerhouse, I move on. Maybe I'm afraid of commitment or something. I'm sure Joe Berry will forgive me when I draft him to the Redskins a few seasons from now in Madden.

Poor Joe Berry thought you'd be with him for his entire collegiate career. Was it the money that took you to Auburn? It's always the money...
